I used to paint these dinosaur alters all the time. When Ixalan released, I painted a single Gishath altered art, with the scratched and slashed up text box, and it created a slow-motion avalanche of further alters over the years. Recently, as Magic: the Gathering has moved away from dinosaurs, I’ve done fewer alters in this style, but this Ghalta commission was an enjoyable revisiting.
