Just wrapped up a border extension on Survival of the Fittest. For this one, I extended the art with a mountainous skyline to give the background a touch more presence, and added texture and some greenery to the surrounding rocks to keep the composition visually balanced. The goal was to keep the feel of the original piece while making the extended frame feel natural and a little more detailed. As with all my Magic: the Gathering alters, it’s fully hand-painted and done with attention to how the card’s original atmosphere comes through when extended.
