I just finished this hand-painted border extension alter of Metalworker, one of my favorite artifact creature cards in Magic: the Gathering. For this custom MTG card, I extended the original art to cover the full card frame and added shelves of artifacts in the background to give it more depth and context. The alter was done with acrylics, matched carefully to the original artwork to maintain a cohesive look. It’s always fun working on classic staples like Metalworker, especially when the card’s art allows for so much re-imagining.
